know us
The “Montreal Catholic Challenge Movement,” or “Challenge” for short, is a community of Catholic young adults aged 18-35 who aim to build a deeper relationship with God and each other.
The Montreal Catholic Challenge Movement is endorsed by the Archdiocese of Montreal and is faithful to Roman Catholic Church teachings. However, one does not need to be a Catholic to participate in our weekend retreats or activities.
What we do
“Lord, give me a sense of humor so that I may take some happiness from this life and share it with others.”
Weekly Ultreyas
Challenge meets every week, usually on Friday, at St. Laurent Parish in Montreal. These weekly meetings (called Ultreyas) aim to create an environment where friendships can be strengthened and where young people can deepen their faith together through prayer, talks, learning, community outreach, and social activities.
Challenge Retreats
Our three-day retreat weekends are a main component of our Challenge community, and the way to officially become a “Challenger”. Our retreats, which are 100% organized and led by our young adult “Challengers” contain many opportunities to encounter Christ, through the guidance of peers and the Holy Spirit. It is a live-in weekend, with many activities including witness talks, group discussions, music, prayer, games, personal reflections and social time, all with the goal of “challenging” each other to deepen our relationship with God, ourselves and each other.
